National CPR & AED Awareness Week | June 1–7
Every year from June 1–7, CPR & AED Awareness Week reminds us just how vital it is to be prepared in an emergency. Established in 2007, this week was created in collaboration with the American Heart Association, the American Red Cross and the National Safety Council to spotlight the importance of learning CPR and how to use an AED.
Sudden cardiac arrest can happen to anyone, anywhere, on the job, at home or in public spaces. The difference between life and death often comes down to how quickly CPR is started. Performing CPR immediately after cardiac arrest can double or triple a person’s chance of survival. (cpr.heart.org)
During this week, we encourage everyone, whether you’re a supervisor, a team member or someone who just wants to be ready, to learn or refresh your CPR and AED skills. These tools are simple to use and could help save a coworker, friend or family member when it matters most.
