Navigating Industry Change

As we grow and change, our success depends on us asking ourselves what is also changing around us. From the low unemployment rate, to increased levels of security, to a focus on the health of people in buildings and sustainability, many factors contribute to how we adapt our business model. At the latest meeting, we explored the future with discussion on technology, robotics and even augmented reality.

Augmented reality is becoming more and more a part of our daily lives. Bernard Marr, author of the Forbes Magazine article “9 Powerful RealWorld Applications of Augmented Reality (AR) Today,” wrote, “In 2017, ARKit was launched by Apple, and Google released ARCore for Android, both powerful tools for developers to create AR apps. It is predicted that there will be one billion augmented reality users by 2020.” The potential uses of AR in our lives will drive this growth and developers will generate AR applications that are useful for businesses, too.

aug•men•ted re•al•i•ty noun a technology that superimposes a computer-generated image on a user’s view of the real world, thus providing a composite view.

How will that impact our business?  We anticipate equipment repairs could be facilitated with the help of augmented reality, and training for our employees is also a possibility. We’re ready for the challenge and excited about the opportunities. Search YouTube for “AI” to see examples of AI in action
