2021 Employee of the Year Ana Zelaya Ramirez, Des Moines District
In July 2019, when FBG began servicing Grand View University (GVU) in Des Moines, Iowa, one thing became clear to District Director, Pat Carroll, “We wanted Ana on our team. She came highly recommended by the school due to her unwavering commitment to leading by example.”

Simply put, Ana’s positive impact on others is undeniable.
During the summer, we provide extensive dorm room and apartment cleanings.This is very detailed work, and it’s important that the team work efficiently and safely. This is a great opportunity for all to learn from Ana’s tenure at the school.
Carroll added, “During site visits to the university, it always brings a smile to my face when I see Ana providing such a positive example for others to follow. She makes our job easier by her commitment to exceeding the expectations in her role as a cleaning specialist.

When additional, requested assignments come up from the customer, she is consistently one of the employees that will step up without hesitation. Her attendance, teamwork, leadership, and infectious smile are a major reason for our success and positive reputation with the university.”

It’s a family atmosphere at GVU, as it is with FBG, which makes for a good fit. Ana has been married for 33 years. She and her husband, Felix, have four children. She’s been known to take some of her home cooking to his colleagues on the weekend. That’s very generous, Ana!
