Amy Harrington Awarded FBG’s 2025 Des Moines District Employee of the Year
FBG Facility Services is proud to recognize Amy Harrington as the 2025 Employee of the Year for the Des Moines District. Amy joined FBG one year ago and brings with her 12 years of janitorial experience. In a short time, she has made a strong impact through her dedication, professionalism and commitment to excellence.
In her role as a daytime floater, Amy consistently steps up to meet changing facility needs. She takes on a wide variety of assignments with confidence and efficiency, ensuring every task is completed thoroughly and correctly. Her willingness to accept new responsibilities reflects her desire to grow and support both her team and the customers she serves. Amy recently completed the FBG Basic Supervision course with Revela, showing her interest in developing her leadership skills and preparing for future opportunities within the company.
As a daytime floater, Amy regularly encounters unexpected situations and shifting priorities. She is very flexible and quickly assesses what needs to be done. Her ability to adapt helps ensure that facilities remain safe, clean and welcoming at all times.
Amy also shows strong initiative and sound judgment in her daily work. She is proactive in addressing facility needs and identifying potential issues before they become larger problems. By prioritizing tasks carefully and following safety procedures, she helps keep operations running smoothly and efficiently.
Beyond her daily responsibilities, Amy makes meaningful contributions to the company through her leadership by example and positive influence on team culture. She mentors new team members, shares best practices and helps create a supportive and team-oriented environment.
Outside of work, Amy enjoys spending time with her wife Tara and their two children, Will and Augustine. She also contributes to her community by participating in Christmas gift drives for the Iowa Refugee Foundation and volunteering at her children’s school.
